What's in a Name?

This morning while playing in their play room, Brody got out their magnetic letters and started picking out letters here and there. Keep in mind, it’s been months since they have touched those letters. Before I knew it, he had taken out the letters of his name and then spelled his name with them! I was so taken aback I didn’t know quite what to say. I went with, “Why Brody, that’s right. That is how you spell your name.” He didn’t miss a beat and proceeded to take out the letters to spell Luke’s name. While he didn’t spell that one correctly, he knew exactly what letters were needed. Later on in the day, we all went for a quick walk around the ponds on base. When we came to the start of the trail, I asked the boys who could tell me what one of the words on the sign said. Brody didn’t miss a beat and said, “Dog.” I’m amazed at and proud of my little man.
