Helicopter Pilot

Seems someone's daddy got him something special--his very own helicopter pilot helmet! I can assure you that no other gift has come close to the joy as provided by this helmet. When I opened the box, he immediately knew it was his, grabbed it from me, and put it on his head. From there, he refused to take it off. He wore it while eating lunch. He wore it to play in. He wore it to the park. He wore it on a walk around the neighborhood.

He slept with it during his nap.

And he spent the rest of the day doing a pretty darn good imitation of someone else we all know and love.

Time Travel

Some mornings on my way home from my walks, I wonder what it must have been like to have lived here years ago. Technically, I did seeing as how I was born here and all. Still, these older homes have such a history to them. I think of all the families who have driven up and down these streets and come home to these homes. While the need for new housing is unquestionable, it is still a little sad to see these homes being torn down and be replaced with duplexes and fourplexes. It's just such a beautiful place and so full of history everywhere you turn.

The Tractor Man

While riding down the street on base, where there is tons of road construction going on, Luke piped up with the following: The tractor mans hurt the road. It's making your car all bonky.
