Halloween began with the MAG Halloween party. There was pizza, bounce houses, and lots of fun folks dressed up for the holiday. This year, the boys decided they wanted to be Buzz and Woody. I dressed as Jessie to go along with them. The boys loved the bounce houses. Luke loved the giant slide and didn't want to come down. Brody took awhile to warm up, but once he started jumping, he did not want to stop. Neither of them was too happy about leaving.

It's amazing what a difference a year makes! Last year, the boys really didn't have an understanding of what Halloween was. This year, they were absolutely excited about dressing up as Buzz and Woody. Even more so, they were thrilled to be given candy everywhere they went. We started out the night at a friend's house. We got to eat lots of yummy treats, and the boys got to spend time jumping on the trampoline. Luke's favorite event was stealing masks from other kids. He finds masks fascinating and wants to wear them all the time. He especially enjoys Star Wars masks. Seems I might need to order one for him.
I had been explaining to the boys what Halloween was all about. I find things go more smoothly when I explain things to them in advance. So, when we went to the houses, Brody would say, "Happy Halloween," and Luke would say, "Trick or Treat." Then, they would put their hands in the candy bowl and help themselves! At least they said thank you afterwards! After we walked the loop in our neighborhood, they helped hand out candy. One thing that had not changed from last year is that they were very generous with the amount of candy they handed out. Each of them would grab a hand full of sweets to hand out. The kids they gave candy to would turn around and marvel at the amount of candy they had been given.
